Family Activities in San Francisco
San Francisco is very family friendly. The city itself is a great place to explore and enjoy the color of the neighborhoods and the natural scenic beauty. A cable car ride may the best way to just sit back and enjoy. When your little ones don't want to sit still any longer, take them to Gold Gate Park to let them run. This 1,000-acre national treasure has plenty of room for them to burn off some energy. Be awed by towering California Redwoods or the delicate Japanese Tea Garden. Let them be kids at the large playground, and see the fish and the stars and everything else the California Academy of Sciences has to offer.

A Museum that is really kid-friendly is the Exploratorium. Your kids will love the 650 hands-on exhibits and the Tactile Dome, a one way maze that you have to feel your way through, in complete darkness. It may be a little intense for your toddler, but older kids love climbing, feeling and sliding their way through.

Then head back outside to visit the sea lions, the wax museum and the carousel at Fisherman's wharf.
