Powell Hotel San Francisco Review
Powell Hotel
28 Cyril Magnin Street
San Francisco, California
The Powell Hotel has been serving San Francisco with quality service since 1908. While it is not a "luxury" hotel, there is a definite charm and elegance to the place. The building has some interesting architecture and furnishings, setting it apart from the cookie cutter hotels that have become so prevalent. Room features include radio alarm clock, wall-mounted hair dryer, iron/ironing board, coffee maker with tea and coffee, color cable TV with free HBO movies, two-line telephones with private voicemail and computer data port, brand-name bath amenities and valet laundry service. Rooms are not overly large, but the ceilings are high giving the rooms an open feeling.
Public transportation is readily available just outside the hotel, and the front desk staff will be happy to give you a few pointers if this is your first visit to San Francisco. Special packages to sporting events and other attractions can be arranged at the hotel.
